Data Protection

Yarmouth Sailing Club is bound by current UK legislation to use members' personal data only for the legitimate purposes of the club. We undertake to keep this information secure and not to disclose it to outside parties, except that we may pass members' names and email addresses to the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) for use in club surveys.

We ask members to treat other members' details in a similar way and not to use them for anything other than club business.

The Club maintains an up-to-date and secure online Member Directory of members' contact details and any boat kept at the Club, which is only accessible by our members via a secure log-in.

The Club may arrange for photographs or videos to be taken of Club activities from time to time, which may be used as training aids and/or published on the Club website, in our newsletters or via social media channels to promote the Club.

In making an application for membership on behalf of a minor, the parent(s), grandparent(s) or guardian(s) making the application agree to the use of the minor's personal data as described above.

If at any time a member wishes to withdraw his/her consent for any of the above, he/she is asked to email the Membership Secretary (membership.ysc@btconnect.com).

Our full Personal Data Protection Policy is downloadable at the foot of this page.
