Swallows and Amazons Film Night

The YSC was packed on Saturday evening with a very lively and excited bunch of budding Swallows & Amazons. The latest adventures were played out on the big screen to 17 young sailors, most of whom are very keen to sail to Newtown on Saturday 1st July, camp out on the banks of the estuary, and sail back to Yarmouth on 2nd July.

The film was split into two halves. Popcorn and drinks handed out for the first half, a delicious two course supper served at half time, prepared and served by the very dedicated kitchen team whose laughter and giggles could be heard through the closed hatch (not sure who was having more fun, the youngsters or the adults). Then everyone returned to their seats for the finale which included man-overboard dramas, some pretty wild sailing scenes involving airplanes and guns, and all ended well with the villan walking the plank and everyone joining him in the water

As in all Swallows & Amazons films the camping, the cooking on an open fire, the night sailing and the adventure hopefully has stirred up some excitement in our young sailors and we look forward to our own Swallows & Amazons weekend with much anticipation (without the airplanes hopefully).
