RYA Junior Courses

The Club organises various extremely popular events each year specifically to introduce junior members to sailing and to develop their abilities. Children must be aged 8 by 31 December of the year in which the training takes place.

From January 2024 parents (or grandparents) of trainees who are eligible to do Club duties will be required to confirm that they have selected two duties from the Club's duty roster before the children will be accepted onto the training course.

Yarmouth Sailing Club is a small, volunteer run club and during our Junior training, it is a requirement that parents, grandparents or those " in loco parentis" volunteer to help at some point during the event. There are a number of jobs that we need help with, and it is beneficial for the children to see that the adults are taking an interest in them too.

Only club members may apply and participate in training at Yarmouth Sailing Club. To participate in Junior training you need to be a family or single parent member - details of our membership can be found on this website. Family & Single parent families will receive a link to the application form in late January 2024.
