Sailing Club sits next to the swing bridge over the River Yar at the western
end of the There
is a very active sailing membership keenly contesting weekly racing for
plastic (GRP) and wooden Scows, Optimists and Handicap Class (Pico, Topper,
Mirror etc). Races take place both in the river and in the Solent and,
weather permitting, annual passage races to There
is Optimist training for the children of members at the Spring Half Term and
during the Summer Holidays, and a programme of events for juniors throughout
the year. Other
events include Disability sailing, Open Day, Scows Week and Junior Regatta. A
varied programme of winter events is arranged. The
bar, run by members, is open for lunch on Sundays throughout the year, and is
open on Saturday evenings when there is an event. It is also often open
following sailing events. If
you'd like to join the club, come along and ask for a form or download one

are holding an Open Evening on Friday 27th June when we will welcome members
of the public who would like to find out more about our activities and be
taken out for a sail on the idyllic waters of the River Yar (weather
permitting). The
