We
welcome applications for membership and you can download the relevant
Guidance Notes and Application Form below. We ask
applicants to say which volunteer duties they would be happy to undertake
(they can choose from patrol boat driver or crew, race officer, provider of
Sunday lunch or bar duty). Each member
is usually asked to do two duties per year and we do our best to accommodate
any preferences as regards dates, times of year, etc. There is always an experienced member on
duty to help and advise those new to the club and we run training sessions
for patrol boat crews and race officers.
Getting involved in these activities is a good way of getting to know
other members and finding out more about what goes on in and around the club. Applications
are approved at monthly Management Committee meetings (no meeting in
December). Those whose applications are
approved in October and November do not have to pay a renewal fee the
following January, i.e. their membership lasts for 13/14 months. Guidance Notes
